Overview
The Home Line of Business in RiskAdvisor helps you capture the right risk profile for different types of homes. Instead of a one-size-fits-all form, RiskAdvisor tailors questions, property data, exposures, and coverages based on the property type:
Standard Home (default)
Condo
Mobile/Manufactured Home
Renters
Landlord / Full-Time Rental Property
This ensures the quote request form stays relevant, faster to complete, and aligned with carrier expectations.
Standard Home (Default)
When you start a Home Risk Profile, the default is Home (Single-Family Residence).
You’ll see:
Discovery questions like Primary Usage and Do you ever rent this home to others?
Standard exposures: pool, trampoline, pets, etc.
Coverage details: HO3 form (default), with dwelling, Coverage B, C, and D applied automatically.
Condo
When you switch the property type to Condo:
Address + optional Apartment/Suite number required.
Pull Property Data button enabled (improves accuracy for condos).
Exposures: pool/trampoline questions removed.
Property Details: “Which floor is the condo located on?” added.
Residence type & construction style: pre-set to Condo.
Coverage Details:
Policy form defaults to HO6.
Coverages B, C, D = manual entry only (not % of dwelling).
Additional coverages scoped down to those relevant for condos.
Mobile / Manufactured Home
When you select Mobile Home:
Property Data Lookup disabled (data is unreliable for manufactured homes).
Discovery: adds “Location Type” (Park, Subdivision, Private Property).
If Park: follow-ups for “Do you own the land?” and “How many lots?”
Property Details: Mobile Home Type, Make/Model, Length, Serial #, Tied down?, Skirted?
Coverage Details: Policy form defaults to Manufactured Home.
Renters
When you select Renters:
Discovery: only asks for address + Apartment/Suite (if applicable).
Exposures: pool and trampoline remain (since they may apply to a home being rented).
Property Details: scoped down to only what carriers require for HO4.
Coverage Details:
Policy form defaults to HO4.
No dwelling coverage.
Manual entry for B, C, D.
Additional coverages limited to renter-eligible ones.
Landlord / Full-Time Rental Property
When you select Use = Full-Time Rental Property:
Discovery adds:
Shortest rental period (annual, monthly, weekly, nightly).
Who manages the property (Self vs. Property Manager).
Option to add a different mailing address for the insured.
Coverage details remain aligned to landlord-type exposures.
Personal Articles Floater
Across all Home types, you’ll see an option for Personal Articles Floater.
If selected, a repeating section appears.
You can enter:
Type of coverage (e.g., jewelry, art).
Blanket vs. per-item coverage.
Appraisal on file?
Item in vault?
Add multiple scheduled items as needed.
